Melissa Jane Domagas Manalang was born in the Northern Mariana Islands. She is currently a sophomore at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). She intends to graduate with a Business Administration degree with an emphasis on Accounting.

Her goal is to become a Certified Public Accountant and establish an accounting firm in partnership with her mother, Alicia. She is the one that inspires her and encourages her to be my bestShe has a passion for the business industry because she want to touch the lives of numerous individuals by providing them employment opportunities, internships and scholarships.

Some of her leadership involvements on campus include the Associated Students of the University of California Irvine, Administrative Intern Program, and the Rotaract Club of UCI. She currently serve as the elected International Director for the Rotaract Club.

Knowing the world needs improvement motivates her to be a leader. There are so many people suffering from poverty, disease, and homelessness. And she feelsl obligated to contribute in any way she can to help improve these people’s lives. She joined the Rotaract Club of UCI because she wants to be surrounded by people who share the same passion for community service. Through the Rotaract Club, she is able to share her blessings with the less fortunate by leading a “build” with Gawad Kalinga in the Philippines. The “build” will happen this coming Summer 2010 and it will be their club’s first international project.
