  4. Promoting Orange County as the ideal destination for establishing and growing businesses.

History

The year 1994 marks a significant year for the Filipino-American business community in Orange County. A cohesive, united and vibrant Filipino-American Chamber of Commerce of Orange County (FACCOC) was formed. The necessity came about as business professionals sought opportunities to network, collaborate and build camaraderie with like-minded individuals.

As a realtor, mortgage broker and restaurant owner, Nolan Alejandro got invited and attended the Orange County Minority Business Council Meeting held on October 1994. To his surprise, the Filipino Entrepreneurs were the only ones not represented as a chamber. Upon much prodding and encouragement from all minority council members, the idea of a Fil Am Chamber of Commerce of Orange County was conceived. Nolan called on Dr. Carmelita Co-Casquejo and both started the ball rolling to establish the professional link of the Chamber.

The result – a diverse, talented, passionate and highly motivated group of professionals that contribute in adding value to the communities that they serve. The evolution came about immediately as the organization learned to collaborate its efforts with other Chambers, public officials, community leaders and selected sponsors to expand its efforts and reach.

Since then, the chamber has conducted educational business seminars, mixers as well as social and family affairs. It has also participated in community service activities benefiting our countrymen. Today, FACCOC continues its traditions of making positive contributions to the communities it serves.

FACCOC Is A Proud Founding Member of CoFACC

In 2018, the leadership of FACCOC decided to take part in spearheading the effort to unify the various Filipino American chambers of commerce across the country, and banded together with the four other Southern California based Filipino American chambers to found the Coalition of Filipino American Chambers of Commerce (CoFACC). Together, these five organizations provide coverage of the entire Southern California Filipino American business population, with additional founding board members representing FilAm organization in Northern California. With the backing of the Consulate General of the Philippine Embassy in Los Angeles, the Honorable Adelio Angelito Cruz, the Coalition has begun extending it’s reach across the nation as it solidifies itself as a national level organization who interest is to serve the Filipino businesses here in the United States.

With FACCOC being a part of this coalition, the network for our members and sponsors to increase business opportunities has grown exponentially, further advancing our mission as a chamber.
